Wisdom & Knowledge of the Holy Spirit
When we receive the infilling of the Holy Spirit, we tap into the unequaled reservoir of the wisdom of the ages. Look again at the spiritual gifts in 1 Corinthians 12:8, “For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit…” These first two of nine gifts of the Spirit are revealing. Look at how the Holy Spirit operated in the creation account in Genesis 1:1-2,
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters.”
The words “moving over the surface”, signifies many things. The Holy Spirit was thinking wisdom and knowledge, as part of the Triune God-head. God the Father is the creative force making creation, and the Spirit is the creative designer in creation. That wisdom and knowledge, was the thinking force in the Creation design. Notice here in Proverbs 3:19-20,
“Yahweh by wisdom founded the earth, by understanding He established the heavens. By His knowledge the deeps were broken up and the skies drip with dew.”
So we see that the eternal God, Yahweh, used His vast resources of wisdom and knowledge, to create this vast and expanding universe, so that it is correctly balanced. In Job 38:4-6,
“Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding, who set its measurements? Since you know. Or who stretched the line on it? On what were its bases sunk? Or who laid its cornerstone…Have you understood the expanse of the earth? Tell Me, if you know all this.”
The same Holy Spirit who gave the vast information needed for this perfectly balanced solar system and cosmos, is ready to give you the wisdom for you to operate in and to fix the problems in your life!
Only those who have received Jesus, and secondarily have received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, have the resources of God to navigate this world that we live in.
Our prayer for today;
Father God, I desire wisdom in my innermost being. Fill me with Your wisdom and knowledge daily, in Jesus’ name, amen!
