Renewing Your Mind Daily
Now that we are in the fifth lesson and fifth week of studying, I want to review some things and give you reassurance to keep up what you have started in your life.
Since we started this course, you have been encouraged to pray, worship, and to read your Bible. Specifically, I hope that you have read your Bible daily, or at least read from the book of Proverbs, corresponding the day of the month with the chapter of the book; i.e. on the 20th, read Proverbs chapter 20. If you want to be challenged to read more, then I encourage you to read the book of Psalms daily, and a chapter a day from the Gospels, starting with the book of Matthew. I have narrated for you the book of Proverbs and the book of Psalms, to help you if you are busy or driving. You can have the Word in you that way as well. You’ll also notice that I have narrated every day of every Lesson in this course.
The other thing I was hoping that you’d get hooked on, is praying the Our Father daily. This week I want to encourage you to expand your prayers as you say the Our Father, to include all the things that the different phrases suggest. For example, “Give us our daily bread…”, could be expanded to pray for your finances, your children’s finances, of getting a new job, or getting your bills under control. Whatever your needs are.
I have written a book entitled, “30 Days Praying the Our Father”. I have reprinted this book recently, and as a result, I have hundreds of the first printing that I would like to share with you for free. Really. Also note in this Course, that you can email your prayer requests to me. I read every one and pray over them personally. During our healing services, if you are watching, you’ll notice a large woven basket marked “Prayer Requests”. Once I get your prayer requests, I pray over them and place them in the basket, which gets prayed over during these services.
Once we complete this week’s study, I will begin to talk to you about relationships, inside and outside of Christianity. Included in that teaching will be ways for you to witness to your family about your faith in Jesus, and how to share your story with others. I believe that this practical advice will be a of great benefit to you as you grow in God.
