OUR 29TH YEAR OF MINISTRY

The Holy Spirit’s Special Protection

The Holy Spirit has received from the Father a very special protection status.  Jesus said concerning Him in Matthew 12:32,

That is some kind of warning!  Only one sin cannot be forgiven?  If this is true, then this protection of His person from any kind of verbal assault against Him, will result in eternal damnation!

Note: The Holy Spirit not only has been given special protection from the throne of God, but we also receive special protection by and through the Holy Spirit.  He is our Intercessor, our Revealer, our Informer, our Restorer, our Emboldener, our Renewer, our Testifier, and our Comforter.  He gives us everything pertaining to life and peace.  He protects us in many ways when we rely on Him.  To have Him live in us and fill us is a joy and a power.  He is our Protector from the world around us.  He is very much our Friend.

He is our Intercessor.  By definition, an intercessor is a person who intervenes on behalf of another, especially by prayer.  In Romans 8:26-27 we read,

“In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.”

The Holy Spirit protects us in ways that we cannot fathom or understand.  What is the duty of an intercessor?  Intercessors make requests, urge, plead, beg, counsel, discuss, sacrifice, they make war on behalf of weaker individuals, and they impact the final results for those they pray for.  An intercessor is a type of representative counsel.  As a result, the Holy Spirit argues your case before the Father as an attorney would do in a court of law.

Our prayer for today:

Father, please teach me to honor the Holy Spirit, as You would have me to.  I want to honor Him in my words, and in my actions and my prayer time.  I now realize, that He is very important to me, in Jesus’ name, amen!
