God Is – God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
In all aspects of life, all things have names and descriptions. God is described as being Three-in-One. Each Person of God has a specific name, referencing His nature, His character, His responsibility, and His calling.
In Matt 28:19 Jesus said,
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit…”
The Gospel, as it is proclaimed to people, is supposed to talk about all three persons of God. One way to describe God in three Persons, is to think about a house or a home. Jesus used examples of how a home has a father, a family, and a way of thinking about life.
Luke 11:11-13
“Now suppose one of you fathers is asked by his son for a fish; he will not give him a snake instead of a fish, will he?
“Or if he is asked for an egg, he will not give him a scorpion, will he?
“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?”
Here in this excellent example, we see all three concepts of three-in-one, a father, a son, and also a heart, which Jesus describes. God in three Persons, on the other hand, is a good Father, with a good Son, with a good Spirit.
God the Father oversees everything in His kingdom, like any father might operate in this earthly realm. God the Son, Jesus, looks to His heavenly Father, and adores and worships Him, much like children should adore their parents. God the Holy Spirit searches the mind of God the Father. Likewise, our spirit stirs within us and searches our own heart, to find the right thing to say or do, in the activities of our day.
