OUR 29TH YEAR OF MINISTRY

More on Faith

Let’s look again at the book of Hebrews 11:1-6,

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.  For by it the elders obtained a good report.”

“Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”

“By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.”

“By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.”

6, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for He that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.”  KJV

Verse six tells us a great deal about how much God loves us.  Let’s look at the list of things we find in verse six.

  1. It IS possible as a believer, to have NO FAITH.
  2. Without faith, it is completely IMPOSSIBLE to please God.
  3. When we accept Jesus, we must accept that God is the ONE, TRUE God, and that there are no others.
  4. God gives rewards to those who seek Him.  He is also by His nature a rewarder!

When we walk in faith, we become sure of, and comfortable with, the things that we are seeking from Yahweh God.  I like to recite scriptures when I am asking or praying to God the Father.  Doing so, increases my faith, because I can say, “God, You said this, not me, therefore, I believe Your word!”  This passage is one of thousands of scriptures that will increase your faith.  In Mark 11:22-24,

“And Jesus answered saying to them, “Have faith in God.”

“Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him.”

“Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you.”

We can ask God the Father for anything, particularly when we know that we have permission from Him to request it.  Asking for anything bothers a lot of religious Christians, but you and I did not say it, God said it.  We can ask for anything! Wow.

1 John 5:14-15,

“This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”

And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.”

You must develop your faith, and your comfort level in God as being a rewarder, so that you: 1) Pray for stuff 2) Pray specifically 3) Don’t limit God by unbelief on your part.

Our prayer for today,

Father, I ask now the impossible, but not for You.  Heal my body, fix my life, and forgive me of my trespasses, in Jesus’ name, Amen!!
