Introduction to this 30 Week Course
Welcome to my Beginners Christianity Course.
When I got saved, I knew it, but I had no idea that I was to be growing in this new way. I didn’t know any saved Christians close by, and I was left to try different ways to grow that were not consistent.
As I looked back, I realized that I could have grown quicker in God if I had a person to guide me with a simple and organized format. This is one of the reasons that I developed this course.
I will guide you, whether you are a new Christian, or an old saint, saved for decades, into growing in God and having a daily relationship with Him. In just six months, you will have gained more knowledge about what it means to be a Christian, than 95% of the rest of the world!
I’ll also get you used to using His weapons of warfare like a pro, and you’ll do it faster with just a little daily input on your part.
Here are some recommendations and guidelines.
- Each lesson should last a week and has six daily lessons. With six sections in each lesson, you will have one day off every week.
- Each lesson for each day should take about 30-45 minutes of your time to complete. You can do 15 minutes in the morning, 15 minutes at lunch, 15 before bedtime. Or, complete your daily study all at once.
- Begin each daily lesson (or each day) by praying the Our Father, (shown on next page), and start out your day properly.
- Begin reading your bible daily. To do so, each day of the month has a number, and that date will be the place that you will begin to read your Bible in the Book of Proverbs. For instance, is it the 11th of the month? Then read chapter 11 of Proverbs.
- If you miss a day, or do not complete the day’s reading, just pick up where you left off.
- Find a private place to study and pray, and make that your special prayer and study space. You’ll notice that in just a few days, that space will have something special about it, and it will get easier to read and study the lessons and pray.
- Get yourself a bible to study from. I like the NASU (New American Study Bible- Updated). Buy some yellow, orange and red highlighters, and highlight thoughts that you will want to go back to later. This will make your studying more fun and effective.
- On most days, there will be scriptures that are associated with a particular thought being discussed. Look up those Bible passages, and write notes to yourself about what each one means to you.
Learn to Grow in God Daily
Start each day by praising God and saying the Our Father out loud.
If you know or have praise music at your fingertips, play that in the morning, or on your drive to work. Later in the course, I will introduce some simple praise songs that will give you a great deal of power.
Say the Our Father yourself, or with your children, or spouse. Get the whole household involved, if you wake up at the same times.
I call this time, God Time. That is because you can stand, kneel, or pace around, when you pray or praise. You find that pacing around the room will help your time in prayer, as will kneeling.
If you have long drives to work and back, that is a good time for you to pray and praise. Just keep your eyes open. 😊
If there are distractions, turn off the ones that you are able to, and walk in the grace of God with all the others. Your life is busy, and distractions are something we cannot completely do away with.
